Timeline of the Birth of Project Bliss
March 2012–Started really scheming and dreaming about opening a residential treatment facility to treat those with eating disorders.
April 2012–Met a great Agent/Broker–Brian Jones–to help with the home hunting.
June 2012–Found a place I never thought we could get. She wasn’t so pretty then, but we could see her potential. We put in an offer, and I felt that thing in your stomach when you crest and go over the first rise on a big, scary roller coaster.
July 2012–We purchased our estate at 4409 Kelly Elliot Rd., Arlington Texas. It is 2.5 acres and 4000 square feet of home. It sits right off of Interstate 20, which makes it very accessible. Time to get some paint. Adopted Lady Coco from the Arlington Animal Shelter to be our first foster dog for Project Bliss. Received a $20,000 donation to help purchase supplies and household items.
August 2012–Board of Directors for Project Bliss finalized, and Bylaws revised and approved. President of the Board, Roger Pereira (my husband) and I (Jennifer Pereira) work on the house 7 days a week for 6 weeks. I would finish seeing clients at my office and drive straight over to paint for hours. As exhausted as I should’ve been, I had to force myself to go home because being there made me so happy. Received $10,000 and $200 donations to help with supplies, household needs, and staffing.

Due to the need for individualized treatment plans, commitment to confidentiality, and provision of quality services, we are not able to bill directly to insurance plans at this time. We are able to provide itemized services forms to be submitted to individual’s insurance company to seek out-of-network benefits. Typically patients are reimbursed a portion of their expenditures for out-of-network services, which will vary depending on particular plans. A sliding scale may be available to adjust fees based upon income. A sliding scale worksheet can be found at PROJECT BLISS, and may be submitted prior to your phone assessment if you are in need of this service. Worksheets can be faxed to Project Bliss at 817-200-7557 or emailed to lor@projectbliss.org or jp@projectbliss.org.
